Here’s how you can avoid dangerous ingredients for your skin !

Hi Beauties,

Before we start we want to thank everyone who ordered from our ”first” collection. Cause the fact that we’ve been getting so much beautiful comments and stories from costumers who recommend our products is insane! We are extremely thankful for everyone who is supporting us.

In this October blog your going to be educated and informed at the same time. As we constantly trying to learn and study what our costumers actually looking for, we thought it would be fun if we can get inside of the costumers head, so we decided to just reach out to multiply beauty community groups with more than 5k+ cosmetics lovers and asked them what they search for in cosmetics. I mean like if you’re a product ”formulation checker” and have no idea what certain products actually do for your skin and you seem to struggle cause you want to learn more about ingredients? I think you need to stick around cause you don’t want to miss out on this hot tea for your skin.

Let’s get into on what to use and what not to use in your daily skin care routine!

What’s News !

Cosmetics Survey

So basically last week we where able to investigate some of the requirements costumers look at before buying cosmetics.

During this survey we discovered that a lot of costumers don’t focus on the most imported things of cosmetics that we like to call the ‘’formula’’.  Below is a small list of the most effective thoughts of a costumer while shopping for cosmetics. And while reading this, just see yourself as that costumer that walks into the beauty store to find some must haves, and think about what your actual focus point is when grabbing that first product.

1. We found out that only 10% really focus on cruelty- free cosmetics.

This is really sad to hear, because no animal should be tortured. Matter affect it is also our responsibility to make sure we check this before we purchase beauty products. So please beauties check all of your products before buying or even placing anything on your face.

2. And then we found out that only 10% of the costumers shops for products with convenient and beautiful packaging.

This is something we can totally understand because the ‘’best surprise’’ should always be ‘’inside’’ the packaging. However a beautiful and cute packaging is definitely important as well, and especially if you’re make up obsessed like us.

3. We also found out that only 10% of the costumers look at the companies (brand) status, and actually most of the volunteers who participated to this survey explained that they like to see a certain status of a company before buying or trying products from that brand.

4. 20% of the costumers care about the reviews of the products and reviews of costumers who used the products.

5. 50% of the costumers care about the pigmentation of their cosmetics products.

We are so happy to hear this, because as a cosmetics brand we extremely focus on the balance between high pigments and quality products.

When seeing these justifications from costumers it only makes us wonder what we can do to help our costumers to teach them what’s best for their skin . So we decided to get started to learn our community to shop the best for their skin with some basic cosmetics knowledge, tips and tricks so that you will be able to manage your healthy skin journey even better. From now on you will find a monthly Tips and Tricks to help you treat your skin the best way.

WHAT INGREDIENTS TO AVOID?

1. DMDM HYDANTOIN & UREA (Imidazolidinyl)

These are preservatives and often release formaldehyde which may cause joint pain, skin allergies, headaches, loss of sleep or even worse cancer.

DMDM HYDANTOIN is more likely to be found in lotion, sunscreen and make up remover.

So we advice to definitely try to avoid these chemicals.

2. SYNTHETIC FRAGRANCES

Anything listed as ‘’synthetic’’ should immediately be avoided and raise a red flag.

Because these could be made of hundreds to thousands of different ingredients not listed on the label, that you are never sure what you’re actually being exposed to.

These are usually found in skincare products but also in many households products such as candles or air refreshers

So this is definitely a NO GO for us !

3. PEG (Polyethylene glycol)

are petroleum-based compounds that are widely used in cosmetics as thickeners, solvents, softeners, and moisture-carriers. PEGs are commonly used as cosmetic cream bases. They are also used in pharmaceuticals as laxatives.

This ingredient is not dangerous but is definitely an ingredient you want to avoid if you have a dry skin, cause this ingredient can alter and reduce the skin’s natural moisture factor to the max.
